Ingredients

  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar and Monterey Jack
  • 1 cup cooked and seasoned ground beef or chicken
  • 1 can black beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 jalapeño sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 avocado diced
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Arrange tortilla chips in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese evenly over the chips.
  • Add the cooked ground beef or chicken evenly across the chips.
  • Scatter black beans over the meat.
  • Pour salsa generously over the entire layer.
  • Add the remaining cheese on top of the salsa.
  • Scatter jalapeño slices for added heat.
  • Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, and top with sour cream, diced avocado, and cilantro.
